Avinash Kaur and Arunprit Kaur won the silver medal in the women 500m double scull (W2x) event. This was second medal for Avinash and Arunprit, who had also bagged the silver medal in women 500m double scull (W2x) event earlier on May 29.

Both Avinash and Arunprit hail from North India and train at Sports Authority of India Centre of Excellence at Jatagpur, Cuttack. With the two medals today, the total number of medals for KIIT became 11, which include five gold, five silver and one bronze.

With these 11 medals, KIIT further consolidated its position as the most successful among three Odisha universities at the ongoing Khelo India University Games. KIIT is followed by Utkal University with six medals (two gold, three silver and one bronze) and Sambalpur University with two medals (one gold , one silver). As a State, Odisha has bagged a total of 19 medals so far.
