  CS treble for Aditya; Aahan clinches double crown

Host Odisha players won all seven titles in the TAB-AITA-OTA Championship Series U-14 & U-16 Tennis Tournament, which was organised by Tennis Association of Bhubaneswar (TAB), under the auspices of Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex in Bhubaneswar today.

Odisha boy Aditya Bikram Acharya clinched a treble, winning the three titles in boys U-14, U-16 singles and U-16 doubles categories. Odisha girl Aahan bagged a double, emerging both U14 and U16 singles champion.

 

Aniket Sahoo, Sohini Sanjay Mohanty, Priyanshi Panigrahi and Aahaan Mishra were other title winners from Odisha. OTA Joint Secretary, Sanjeeb Panda presented the trophies.

A total of 74 players from 10 states participated in the tournament, which commenced on June 5. Title winners and runners-up gathered 25 and 20 AITA ranking points respectively.

OTA Joint Secretary Sanjeeb Panda handed over the trophies to the finalist in the presence of Tournament Director Santosh Kumar Jena and Tournament referee Jatin Batsya.

Boys U14 singles:
Aditya Bikram Acharya (Odisha) beat Eeshan Chaudhuri (West Bengal) 6-2, 6-3.
Boys U16 single: Aditya Bikram Acharya (Odisha) beat Saptapurna Jena (Odisha) 7-5 (Conceded due to shoulder injury).
Girls U14 singles: Aahan (Odisha) beat Indrakshi Bhattacharya (West Bengal) 6-0, 6-0.
Girls U16 singles: Aahan (Odisha) beat Sohini Sanjay Mohanty (Odisha) 6-7(5), 7-5, 3-2 (Conceded).
Boys U16 doubles: Aditya Bikram Acharya-Aniket Sahoo (Odisha) beat Shriyansh Kumar Sahani-Vedaant Agarwal (West Bengal) 6-1, 6-3.
Girls U16 doubles: Sohini Sanjay Mohanty-Priyanshi Panigrahi (Odisha) beat Druti Biswas-Drimi Biswas (West Bengal) 6-3, 6-1.
Boys U14 doubles: Aahaan Mishra-Subhradip Mukhopadhyay (Odisha- West Bengal) beat Md Aariz Khan-Devraj Mandade (Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra) 6-4, 6-7(6), 10-3.
