Odisha played the bronze medals match after losing their semifinal clash against Bihar 7-24. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Odisha thrashed Gujarat 22-0. Odisha qualified for the quarterfinals by winning both of their Pool-F league games as well as the pre-quarterfinals.

Odisha started their campaign with 57-0 thumping win over Puducherry and followed it with a 29-7 victory against Manipur. In the pre-quarterfinals, Odisha overpowered Uttar Pradesh 34-0.
