Four players from Odisha have been included in the first-ever Indian Women Cricket Team for the Blind for a five-match T20I Series against Nepal, scheduled to be played in Pokhara and Kathmandu from 25 to 30 April 2023.
The 17-member Indian team was today announced by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). The four Odisha players are: Jhili Birua, Phula Soren, Basanti Hansda and Padmini Tudu. The selection was made on the basis of performances in the recent selection trials in Bhopal.
The 17-member squad for the bilateral series will participate in an intensive national coaching camp at Sarda Sportscube Foundation in Gurugram from April 17 to 22 before leaving for Nepal on April 23. Sushma Patel from Madhya Pradesh will lead the team with Gangavva Neelappa Harijan from Karnataka as her deputy.
