Pankaj Bhue claimed the mens 100m silver medal in T-13 category with a time of 12.34 seconds. The silver and bronze medal in this event went to fellow Indians Meet Tadhani and Venkatesh Nagarethinam respectively.

Prafulla Khandayatray captured the mens shot put bronze medal in F-54 category with a throw of 6.91 metre. Stefanoudakis Emmanouil of Greece and Abhishek Chamoli of India secured the gold and silver respectively.

Around 290 para athletes from 12 countries are vying for medals in this four-day championship, which is being organised by Paralympic Committee of India. This is a Qualifying event for the 2023 World Para Athletics Championship and 2024  Paralympic Games.

Four athletes from Odisha are representing the country in this championship. Suchitra Parida is the other competitor from Odisha and she would vie for medal in womens discus and javelin throw.

Jayanti, Pankaj and Prafull are competing in multiple events. Odisha athletes have been accompanied by coaches Markanda Reddy and Bishnu Prasad Mishra.
