Odisha para athletes captured three more medals for the country with Jayanti Behera and Pankaj Bhue grabbing one gold each and Suchitra Parida securing silver in the 5th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship at Shree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru today.
Ace Odisha sprinter Jayanti Behera clinched a double, adding the womens 400m gold to the 100m yellow metal she had won yesterday. She won the 400m event in T-11/20/47 category, clocking 1:01.88 seconds.
Fellow Indians Lalitha Killaka and Ishwari Nishad settled for silver and bronze with timings of 1:10.80 and 1:24.06 respectively. Odisha star Jayanti has a bright opportunity to bag a treble as she would be vying for the 200m gold medal tomorrow.
