A 28-embers Odisha squad bagged a total of nine medals in the 22nd Junior National Wushu Championship, which was held at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Bihar from 6 to 11 August 2023. The nine medals include, two gold, two silver and five bronze.
Manipur emerged overall champions in the six-day championship. Odisha squad was accompanied by eight officials. The officials are: S S. Harichandan (Chief Jury), Pradyumna Behera (Head Judge), Anuradha Dora (National Judge – Sanda), Pruthwiraj Harichandan (National Judge – Taolu), Pankaj Mahanta and Sujan Kumar Rath (Coaches), Susmit Kumar Panda and Sanatan Dehuri (Managers).
ODISHA MEDAL WINNERS:
Gold: Babulu Munda (-48 kg Youth Boys), Swetarani Mahanta (-48 kg Junior Girls).
Silver: Sumitra Munda (-45 kg Junior Girls), Prem Munda (-48 kg Junior Boys).
Bronze: Rajkumar Munda (-52 kg Junior Boys), Pratik Kumar Mohapatra (-80 kg Junior Boys), Payal Pattanaik (Junior Girls Traditional Wing Chun Style), Ashish Dhirdeo Samanta (Junior Boys Traditional Double Weapon), Nupur Pattanaik (Junior Girls Traditional Single Weapon).
