  State School TT Meet: Cuttack teams assert supremacy

Cuttack schools bagged three out of four team titles to assert supremacy in the Odisha State Inter-School Table Tennis Championship, which was organised by Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA) at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Cuttack on 12 and 13 August 2023.

Delhi Public School, Stewart School and Christ Higher Secondary School won the three titles for Cuttack, while the remaining one went to Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar. A record number of 226 players from 69 schools participated in the two-day championship.

RESULTS:

Junior Boys Team Event (Final):
Delhi Public School, Kalinga, Cuttack beat New Stewart School, Cuttack 3-1. Jayastu Dasgupta beat Zaid Khan 3-0, Hitesh Agarwal beat Subhankar Mahali 3-2, Jayastu Dasgupta-Hitesh Agarwal lost to Subhankar Mahali-Zaid Khan 1-3, Jayastu Dasgupta beat Subhankar Mahali 3-1.

 

Junior Girls Team Event (Final): Stewart School, Cuttack beat St Josephs Girls High School, Cuttack 3-1. Ashi Swayanshi lost to Sweta Verma 0-3, Sakshi Bhagat beat Anuska Mohanty 3-1, Sakshi Bhagat-Ashi Swayanshi beat Sweta Verma-Anuska Mohanty 3-0, Sakshi Bhagat beat Sweta Verma 3-0.

Senior Boys (Final): Christ Higher Secondary School, Cuttack beat Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Bhubaneshwar 3-1. Md Jissan beat Rudra Gouda 3-0, Md Abu Sufian Taji lost to Ratikanta Gouda 1-3, Md Jissan-Abu Sufian Taji beat Ratikanta Gouda-Tridev 3-0, Md Jissan beat Ratikanta Gouda 3-0.

Senior Girls (Round Robin league): KISS, Bhubaneswar emerged champions, securing 8 points, while Buckley Girls High School, Cuttack finished runners-up with 7 points.
