Football Association of Odisha (FAO) today announced a 22-member State team for the Junior Boys National Football Championship for BC Roy Trophy (Tier-1), scheduled to be held at two grounds in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 5 to 15 September 2023. A total of 16 teams would compete in this tournament.
Teams would play league matches in four groups and the four group toppers would qualify for semifinals. Host Odisha has been placed in Group-C along with Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Chhattisgarh. Odisha would play against Haryana on September 5, Uttar Pradesh on September 7 and Chattisgarh on September 9.
The two venues are Capital Football Arena, Unit-3 and Odisha Football Academy Ground, 7th Battalion. The championship is being hosted by Football Association of Odisha (FAO) and Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Govt of Odisha, under the aegis of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
