Double medallist, Aridita Chakraborty who won the silver in the women 400m run and bronze in the shot-put event was presented with Rs.4,00,000. Baishnab Rajpalia and Kalpana Jena received Rs 3,00,000 each for bagging silver in men shot put and womn cycling events respectively.

Sachin Barik received Rs 25,000who was part of the Indian men futsal team, which narrowly missed a bronze medal and finished fourth. Jyothi Ranjan Ojha, who was a partner of the bronze medal winning Indian men unified volleyball team, was awarded Rs 50,000.

Shibani Priyadarshini and Mamali Nag also received Rs 50,000 each for being partners of the Indian women unified beach volleyball team that secured the bronze medal.

Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) Odisha President Kasturi Mohapatra, Area Director Prakash Rath, Special Olympics coach Arpita Mohapatra, silver medal wining Indian women basketball team coach Sasmita Routray and Indian men futsal team coach Jhasketan Sahu were present in the felicitation functions.

The athletes were welcomed with a warm reception upon their arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport yesterday evening by OSD, Sports & Youth Services Department, Sidhartha Sankar Sahu.
