The Odisha State Swimming Association (TOSSA) has announced an 11-member State squad for the 76th National Senior Aquatics Championship, which scheduled to be held at Gachibowli Swimming Pool in Hyderabad from 2 to 5 July 2023. The squad, featuring six female and five male swimmers, left for Hyderabad today, accompanied by two coaches and one manager.
According to a TOSSA press release, the squad was selected by a committee, comprising swimming coaches of the State body and Inspire Institute of Sports, Bhubaneswar, on the basis of performances during the 63rd Odisha State Championship, held at Bhubaneswar from 4 to 7 June 2023.
The squad was given a warm send-off by members of Bhubaneswar-Khordha District Aquatic Association (BKDAA) at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar.
The ensuing National championship is the final qualification event for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023. The young Odisha squad consists of international swimmers Pratyasa Ray and Shristi Upadhaya.
