Odisha bagged a total of five medals in the 32nd Senior National Wushu Championship, which was held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune, Maharashtra from 26 June to 1 July, 2023. The five medals consisted of one silver and four bronze.
Rinki Routaray secured the lone silver medal in women taolu dubble weapons. The four bronze medals were claimed by Biram Tudu in men taolu nanquan, Asish Kumar Pradhan in men taolu taiji traditional bare hand, Amit Kumar Singh in men taolu changquang and Manju Munda in women sanda 45 kg categories.
A 41-member Odisha squad, featuring 35 wushu athletes and six officials attended the National championship. Wushu Association of Odisha (WAO) technical director Pradyumna Behera acted as the head judge of the championship. Among other Odisha officials, Anuradha Dora performed as a judge.
Pankaj Mahanta and Sujan Rath accompanied the Odisha squad as coaches, while Susanta Kumar Naik and Eswar Chandra Mahanta played the role of managers. WAO chairman Sudhanshu Sekhar Harichandan and general secretary Yuvraj Harichandan have congratulated the medal winners.
