Hockey India today announced an 18-member Indian Men Hockey Team for the 7th Asian Champions Trophy Hockey Tournament, scheduled to be held at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai from 3 to 12 August 2023. Defender Amit Rohidas is the only Odisha player to have been selected in the Indian team.
India will face Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, and China during the Pool stage of the tournament. Asian Champions Trophy will also serve as a preparation event for the crucial Hangzhou Asian Games 2023.
The team will continue to be led by ace dragflicker and defender Harmanpreet Singh and midfielder Hardik Singh as his deputy. Asian Champions Trophy will be live on Star Sports and FanCode.
