Himachal Pradesh beat Odisha by eight wickets in their Group-B match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai today. This was the second match for Odisha, who won their opening game against Assam by 11 runs yesterday.

Opting to bat, Odisha suffered a top-order collapse as they were reduced to 37 for five. However, they managed a modest total of 138 for seven, thanks to fighting performances by the middle order batters. Rakesh Pattnaik was the top scorer with 22-ball 40.

In reply, Himachal rode on an unbeaten half-century by Sumeet Verma to overhaul the target in 16.3 overs, losing only two wickets. Odisha will next meet Sikkim at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on October 19.
