Odisha woman shooting icon Shriyanka Sadangi achieved triple success by winning one gold, one bronze medal and securing a quota place for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games at the 15th Asian Shooting Championship in Changwon, South Korea between 27 and 31 October 2023.
Shriyanka secured the 13th quota place for the Paris Olympics by finishing fourth in the women 50m rifle 3 positions today. She mustered a total score of 440.5, narrowly missing out on the podium finish. She secured the Olympics Quota after the first 10 shots in the standing position.
Earlier today, the Indian trio of Shriyanka Sadangi, Ashi Chouksey and Ayushi Podder won the gold medal today in the women 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) team event. A PHD student of KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Shriyanka won the bronze medal in the 10m air rifle women team event along with Tilottama Sen and Ramita Jindal on October 27.
With the two medals at the Asian championship, the total number of international medals for Shriyanka became 35. The 35 international medals include nine gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze.
