Pranati now trains at Odisha AM/NS Gymnastic High Performance Centre in Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, under the guidance of coach Ashok Kumar Mishra. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated Pranati with a cash award of Rs 23 lakhs for her amazing success at the National Games.

Tapan Mohanty proved to be the second most successful gymnast for Odisha, winning one silver medal each in men artistics still rings and parallel bars. The other silver medal for Odisha was pocketed by Mohammad Anas in men artistic table vault.

Anas, who originally hails from Uttar Pradesh, also represented Odisha for the first time. He too trains at Odisha AM/NS Gymnastic High Performance Centre. His father is an air-conditioning mechanic in Allahabad. Earlier he trained at National Sports Academy and won National medals for Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier on October 23, Odisha male gymnasts Rakesh Kumar Patra and Tapeswaranath Das won the gold medal for their employers Services in artistics team event. Both Patra and Das train at Odisha AM/NS Gymnastic HPC, Bhubaneswar.
