  Swetapadma, Jigyanshu, Sweta win multiple State titles

Swetapadma Dalai (Bhubaneswar), Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) and Sweta Verma (Cuttack) won multiple titles in the 29th Odisha State Table Tennis Championships which concluded at Biju Patnaik Indoor Hall, Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar today.

Swetapadma and Jigyanshu bagged three titles each, while Sweta clinched a double. Mania (Cuttack), Jigyanshu Sai Kiran Pradhan (Puri), Urja Verma (Cuttack) and Mainak Das (AG Odisha) claimed one title apiece.
 

The four-day championship was organized by Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSSTA) with the support of the Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the championship, while OSSTA president Sanjay Kumar Singh handed over the prizes at the closing ceremony. OSSTA secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida was present on both occasions.

RESULTS (All finals):

U-11 Girls Singles: Sweta Verma (Cuttack) bt Aaradhya Sahoo (Cuttack) 3-2 (11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 3-11, 11-9).
U-11 Boys Singles: Arush Mania (Cuttack) bt Reetam Bhuyan (Rourkela) 3-1 (12-10, 13-15, 11-6, 11-5).
U-13 Girls Singles: Sweta Verma (Cuttack) bt Aaradhya Sahoo (Cuttack) 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-6).
U-13 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sai Kiran Pradhan (Puri) bt Suvankar Mahali (Cuttack) 3-0 (12-10, 12-10, 11-8).
U-15 Girls Singles: Urja Verma (Cuttack) bt Aaradhya Sahoo (Cuttack) 3-2 (11-5, 11-7,  11-6).
U-15 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) bt Anindya Anupam Das (Bhubaneswar) 3-2 (11-5, 9-11, 11-4, 8-11, 11-8).
U-17 Girls Singles: Sweta Padma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) bt Urja Verma (Cuttack) 3-1 (11-2, 4-11, 13-11, 11-2).
U-17 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) bt Anindya Anupam Das (Bhubaneswar) 3-0 (11-7, 12-10, 11-9).
U-19 Girls Singles: Sweta Padma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) bt Urja Verma (Cuttack) 3-0 (11-4, 11-8, 11-9).
U-19 Boys Singles: Jigyanshu Sahoo (Cuttack) beat Anindya Anupam Das (Bhubaneswar) 4-0 (11-5, 11-2, 11-4, 11-4).
Women Singles: Sweta Padama Dalai (Bhubaneswar) bt Neha Kumari (AG, Odisha) 4-2 (11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5).
Men Singles: Mainak Das (AG Odisha) bt Samrat Chakraborty (AG Odisha) 4-1 (12-10, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5, 11-5).
