Tanvi Patri, the most promising shuttler of Odisha, successfully defended the girls singles title in the 35th Sub-Junior (U-13) National Badminton Championship, which was held at PRHS Indoor Stadium in Balangir, Odisha from 21 to 24 November 2023.
Third seed Tanvi bagged the gold medal and a cash prize of Rs 60,000, beating top seed Shaina Manimuthu of Karnataka) 21-13, 21-11 in the final that lasted 37 minutes. Asserting her domination, Tanvi won six singles matches without losing a singles game.
A trainee of Bengaluru-based Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Tanvi started her campaign with a bye in the first round and then beat Vanshika Yadav (Delhi) 21-8, 21-6 in second round.
