Odisha Government will provide Rs 10 lakh each to 13 sportspersons who have been selected to represent India in the upcoming 19th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China from 23 September to 8 October 2023.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced the financial support for their training, preparation, and participation in the highest sporting event of the continent. The 13 Odisha sportspersons have been selected to compete in seven disciplines.
Wishing them the best, Chief Minister expressed hope that the athletes will showcase their talent at the Games and this incentive will empower them to focus solely on their training and performance.

Men: 1. Kishore Kumar Jena (Athletics, Javelin throw), 2. Amit Rohidas (Hockey).
Women: 1. Pyari Xaxa (Football), 2. Deep Grace Ekka (Hockey), 3. Anupama Swain (Ju-Jitsu, -52kg), 4. Leichongbam Neha Devi (Kayaking & Canoeing), 5. Ritu Kaudi (Rowing), 6. Sonali Swain (Rowing), 7. Anshika Bharti (Rowing), 8. Hupi Majhi (Rugby 7s), 9. Dumuni Marndi (Rugby 7s), 10. Mama Naik (Rugby 7s), 11. Tarulata NaikĀ (Rugby 7s).
