Put into bat, Odisha were bundled out for a paltry 130 with only Govinda Poddar making a substantial contribution of 55. In reply Jammu & Kashmir made 180 to take a first-innings lead of 50. In the second innings, Odisha rode on an unbeaten 100 (187 balls, 17x4) by Sandeep Pattanaik to muster a total of 198.
While batting failure proved to be the main reason for the defeat of the home team, their bowlers did a good job. Spearheading the attack, Rajesh Mohanty bagged five wickets each in both the innings, while fellow speedster Sunil Roul scalped three wickets apiece.
Abdul Samad played a crucial role in the J&K win, hitting an unbeaten 66 in the second innings. He was adjudged as the Player of the Match. SCORECARD
