Odisha sprinter Mohammad Reyan Basha emerged as the fastest man of the Games, winning the gold medal in mens 100m sprint. Pratik Maharana won the bronze medal, also in 100m sprint. Sunita Santa claimed one bronze in womens 2000m steeplechase. Odisha mens 1000m sprint medley relay team, featuring Rajendra Sidhu, Astik Pradhan, Pratik Maharana, Mohammad Reyan Basha secured the silver medal.
Odisha weightlifters also achieved impressive success, capturing a total of six medals, which featured two gold, three silver and one bronze. Among the weightlifters, Jyoshna Sabar not only won the gold medal in womens 40 kg category, she also created a new National Record in snatch. Her State-mate Priteesmita Bhoi captured the silver medal in the same weight category.
Sadananda Bariha pocketed the other weightlifting gold in mens 61 kg category. Mina Santa and Hrudananda Das secured one silver medal each in womens 55 kg and below 81 kg categories respectively, while the lone bronze medal was claimed by Deepak Pradhan in mens 67 kg class.
Odisha won two medals in hockey with the State mens team bagging gold, defeating Madhya Pradesh 4-0 in the final, while the womens team settled for the bronze, beating Mizoram 4-3 in the match for the 3rd/4th place.
Odisha secured one silver and one bronze in artistic gymnastics. Tannu bagged the silver medal in womens uneven bars, while Alok Kumar won the bronze medal in mens pommel horse. Cyclist Ssakshat Patra captured one bronze medal for Odisha in mens 10 km scratch race.
Odisha women kho-kho team claimed the silver medal when they went down to Maharashtra in the final 24-33 in Madurai. Odisha shuttlers Pragati Parida and Vishakha Toppo also won the silver medal in womens in Chennai.
Odisha tennis player Debasis Sahoo won one bronze medal in mens singles, while Odisha mens football team settled for bronze medal after losing to Punjab in the semifinals by a solitary goal.
Odisha Government sent a 138-member State contingent, including 76 women for the 6th Khelo India Youth Games. They vied for honours in athletics, football (boys and girls), judo, weightlifting, cycling (track & road), swimming, hockey, badminton, gymnastics, tennis, mallakhamb and kho-kho.
