Odisha Government today announced cash awards to honour the outstanding achievements of hockey players from the state. The awards recognize their stellar performances while representing India at the international level.

According to information shared by the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Olympians Amit Rohidas and Deep Grace Ekka will be awarded Rs 3,75,000 each for representing India at the 2023 Mens Asian Championship Trophy, held in Chennai and the 2023 Womens Asian Championship Trophy, held in Jharkhand respectively.

India emerged champions in both the mens and womens Asian Champions Trophy Tournament, which is held every two years. Mariana Kujur, Jyoti Chhatri and Ajmina Kujur will be given Rs 12,50,000 each for representing Indian Womens Hockey Team that won the silver medal in the first edition of the FIH Hockey 5s Womens World Cup, 2024 held in Muscat, Oman. The FIH Hockey 5s World Cup is held every four years.
