Odisha Rugby Football Club (ORFC) retained the womens title in the National Rugby 15s Championship 2023 (Division-I), trouncing Delhi Hurricanes 69-5 in the final at KIIT Rugby Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. This is the fourth successive title triumph for the Odisha women team.
Being the defending champions, ORFC got a direct entry to the semifinals where they prevailed over Rugby Association of Maharashtra (RAM) 65-5. In the other semifinal, Delhi Hurricanes got the better of Future Hope Harlequins 20-14. Future Hope secured the bronze medal, beating RAM 37-12.
A total of 180 players from seven women teams participated in this championship, which was organized by Odisha Rugby Football Association, under the aegis of Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU), with the support of the Odisha State Sports & Youth Services Department (DSYS) and KIIT Deemed to be University from 26 February to 1 March 2024.

The 25-member ORFC team was led by Hupi Majhi. All 20 players of the ORFC team were from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). KIIT & KISS founder Prof Achyuta Samanta was the chief guest of the trophy presentation ceremony. IRFU president Rahul Bose, vice-president Sanaya Mehta Vyas and ORFA general secretary Upendra Kumar Mohanty were present on the occasion.
