  Khelo India Women Weightlifting: Odisha bag 15 medals

Odisha bagged a rich haul of 15 medals in the Asmita Khelo India Womens Weightlifting Championship (East Zone), which was held at Eastern Railway Sports Complex, Sealdah, Kolkata from 2-6 December 2023. The 15 medals include six gold, six silver and three bronze.

Apart from winning 15 medals, Odisha was adjudged as the team champion in youth, junior and senior categories. Priteesmita Bhoi was awarded the best lifter in youth category. Tiki Mohini Mallik was a multiple medal winner for Odisha, grabbing gold and silver in 64kg youth and junior categories respectively.

Weightlifting Olympian and Odisha Weightlifting Association Secretary K Ravi Kumar accompanied the Odisha squad and his guidance helped the women lifters assert supremacy in the five-day championship.

 

ODISHA MEDAL WINNERS:

Gold: Priteesmita Bhoi, 40kg youth category (Snatch 56kg, clean & jerk 66kg, total 122kg).
Gold: Mina Singh, 49kg youth category (Snatch 62kg, clean & jerk 79kg, total 141kg).
Gold: M Keerthi, 76kg senior category (Snatch 75kg, clean & jerk 95kg, total 170kg).
Gold: Abhishiktha Kaduluri, 87kg junior category (Snatch 69kg, clean & jerk 85kg, total 154kg).
Gold: Tiki Mohini Mallik,
64kg youth category (Snatch 69kg, clean & jerk 93kg, total 162kg).
Gold: Shivani Yadav, 87kg senior category (Snatch 84kg, clean & jerk 110kg, total 194kg).

Silver: Jhilli Dalabehera, 49kg senior category (Snatch 74kg, clean & jerk 90kg, total 164kg).
Silver: Mina Santa, 55kg youth category (Snatch 70kg, clean & jerk 86kg, total 156kg).
Silver: Sneha Soren, 55kg senior category (Snatch 79kg, clean & jerk 106kg, total 185kg).
Silver: Swetalina Nayak, 81kg senior category (Snatch 74kg, clean & jerk 89kg, total 163kg).
Silver: Tiki Mohini Mallik, 64kg youth category (Snatch 69kg, clean & jerk 93kg, total 162kg).
Silver: Subhasmita Mohanty, 87kg senior category (Snatch 76kg, clean & jerk 89kg, total 165kg).

Bronze: Sandhya Rani Nayak, 49kg junior category (Snatch 69kg, clean & jerk 87kg, total 156kg).
Bronze: Bidusmita Bhoi, 59kg youth category (Snatch 69kg, clean & jerk 83kg, total 152kg).
Bronze: Moti Jani, 59kg senior category (Snatch 73kg, clean & jerk 97kg, total 170kg).
