Host Odisha players asserted supremacy, bagging five out of six titles in the AITA-KDTA Championship Series U-14 & U-16 Tennis Tournament, which was organised by Khordha District Tennis Association (KDTA), under the aegis of Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Centre in Bhubaneswar from 20 to 24 May 2024.
Among the Odisha players, Aahaan Mishra clinched a triple crown by emerging champion in boys under-14 singles, under-16 singles and under-16 doubles with Sutavya Karmakar as his partner. Odisha junior international Aahan secured the under-16 girls title, while the Odisha duo of Jagat Jyoti Pati and Swayam Sahu triumphed in under-14 boys doubles.
Sanmitha Lokesh (Tamil Nadu) denied Odisha a clean sweep of all six titles by emerging champion in under-14 girls singles. Around 70 players from eight states participated in the tournament. Title winners and runners-up earned 25 and 20 AITA ranking points respectively.
