Host Paramount Sportings emerged champions in the 6th Aurobinda Memorial Paramount Cup U-16 Cricket Tournament, trouncing Rameswar Sporting by 127 runs in the final at Paramount Ground in Bhubaneswar today. Subham Parida and Prantik Priyanshu Nayak played instrumental roles in the Paramount win, bagging four wickets and scoring 69 runs respectively.
The tournament was organized by premier cricket club Paramount Sportings from May 6. BJEM School Chairman Raghunath Mishra graced the prize-distribution ceremony as chief guest. Odisha Cricket Association coach Rashmi Ranjan Parida, former BMC deputy-mayor K Santi, Bhubaneswar Athletic Association general secretary Sourya Ranjan Parija, Paramount Sporting president Pratap Kumar Jana, secretary Ashok Kumar Patra and treasurer Sanjib Kumar Ratha were present on the occasion.
RESULT (Final match): Paramount Sporting 205/10 in 39.4 overs (Prantik Priyanshu Nayak 69, Sidharth Shankar Behera 31; Ahvaan Mishra 3/41, Subhrakant Parida 2/30, Haribans Bhuyan 2/33, Swastik Ghosal 2/38) beat Rameswar Sporting 78/10 in 30.2 overs (Akash Sahoo 22; Subham Parida 4/16, Bijay Singh 2/25, Swastik Choudhry 2/22) by 127 runs.
