  State Junior Athletics Meet: Mangal, Diptee, Jiwan set NMRs

Mangal Sinku (Sundargarh), Diptimayee Das (Jajpur) and Jiwan Mukti Bilung (Bolangir) established New Meet Records (NMR) on the second and penultimate day of the 70th Odisha State Junior Athletics Championship at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today.

Jiwan Mukti created the NMR in Boys-18 long jump with an effort of 7.21 metres, while Mangal did so in Boys-16 80m hurdles, clocking 10.62 seconds. Diptimayee broke the Meet Record in Girs-16 80m hurdles with a time of 12.93 seconds. A total of 15 events in two age groups for boys and girls were completed during the day.

 

RESULTS:

BOYS-16: 80m Hurdles:
1. Mangal Sinku (Sundargarh, 10.62s NMR), 2. Banamali Singh (Keonjhar), 3. Om Gyanaprakash Barik (Jajpur). Long jump: 1. Birendra Kumar Sahoo (Bhadrak), 2. Ayhushman Mahapatra (Bargarh), 3. Santosh Krishani (Nabarangpur). Pentathlon: 1. Manas Majhi (Koraput), 2. Banamali Singh (Keonjhar), 3. Dasmat Murmu (Keonjhar).

BOYS-18: 100m Run: 1. Pratik Maharana (Bargarh), 2. Chinmaya Nag (Bolangir), 3. Rintu Munda (Keonjhar). 1000m Run: 1. Dolamani Chirgun (Jajpur), 2. Rabi Muduli (Malkangiri), 3. Anish Kumar Bisoi (Ganjam). 110m Hurdles: 1. Om Prakash Mohanty (Cuttack), 2. Surendra Hemram (Sundargarh), 3. Bindu Balaya Parida (Cuttack). Long jump: 1. Jiwanmukti Bilung (Bolangir, 7.21m, NMR), 2. Rintu Munda (Keonjhar), 3. Mahendra Hansda (Bolangir).

GIRLS-16: 80m Hurdles: 1. Diptimayee Das (Jajpur, 12.93s, NMR), 2. Sabitri Chalan (Nabarangpur), 3. Ananya Khandayatray (Cuttack). High jump: 1. Ananya Khandayatray (Cuttack), 2. Pratisha P Bagh (Sambalpur), 3. Justa Xalxo (Sundargarh). Pentathlon: 1. Sabitri Chalan (Nabarangpur), 2. Sk Sanjida Shifa (Jagatsinghpur), 3. Rutu Pambia (Nabarangpur).

GIRLS-18: 100m Run: 1. Sanju Hantal (Koraput), 2. Basanti Majhi (Sundargarh), 3. Tulasi Majhi (Bhubaneswar). 200m Run: 1. Harapriya Bhuyan (Jagatsinghpur), 2. Raimat Baskey (Cuttack), 3. Kalpana Surin (Deogarh). 1000m Run: 1. Sunita Santa (KIIT), 2. Daita Hantal (KIIT), 3. Smaranika Sahoo (Jagatsinghpur). 100m Hurdles: 1. Basanti Majhi (Sundargarh), 2. Gurupuja Parida (Jajpur), 3. Tulasi Majhi (Bhubaneswar). High jump: 1. Priti Priyanka Das (Keonjhar), 2. Champa Bhatra (Nabarangpur), 3. Deepika Kindo (Sundargarh).
