Asian youth medallist Bapi Hansda produced his NMR in 400m run, clocking 47.48 seconds in the semifinals. He went on to win the gold medal with a time of 47.51 seconds in the final. But the performance of the star athlete was inferior to his earlier time of 46.90 seconds with which he had won the gold medal with NMR at the 22nd National Junior Federation Athletics Championship earlier this year in Lucknow.
The three-day championship featured a total of 48 events, including 16 on the last day. Odisha Athletics Association president G Srinibas Patnaik and secretary Asiarbad Behera handed over the trophies to group winners and NMR producers at the closing ceremony.
