Notable all-round performance by Shrishendu Sarkar helped Malkangiri beat Kalahandi by 47 runs in their preliminary league match of the OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Ravenshaw Ground in Cuttack today. Sarkar scored 20 runs and captured three wickets to be adjudged the player of the match.

In two other matches of the day, Jajpur captain Bibhuti B Bhuyan bagged four wickets for 28 runs as his team registered a 10-wicket win over Gajapati, while Balangir rode on a three-wicket haul by Anurag Pradhan to edge out Ganjam by 15 runs.

12 June 2024 (Match 23, Ravenshaw Ground-2): Malkangiri 148/10 in 29.5 overs (Suryakanta Takri 21, Shrishendu Sarkar 20; Adhibas Pattnaik 4/34, Aditya Saju 3/15, Priyanshu Singh 2/52) beat Kalahandi 101/10 in 33.1 overs (Badal Sahoo 38, Adhibas Pattnaik 21; Bhakta Rana 3/12, Shrishendu Sarkar 3/19, Chandeep Riar 2/11) by 47 runs.
