  Odisha swimmers bag 17 National ranking medals

Host Odisha bagged a total of 17 medals in the 2nd Odisha National Swimming Ranking Championship (Final) 2023, which was held at the Kalinga Stadium Aquatic Centre in Bhubaneswar from 10 to 12 June 2024. The 17 medals featured five gold, six silver and six bronze.

Out of the 17 medals, women swimmers contributed 15, while the other two were won by male competitor Abhinav Singh. Among the Odisha women medal winners, Shristi Upadhaya was most successful, capturing three gold. She was followed by Mannata Mishra, who garnered two gold and one silver.

 

Divyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan secured the highest number of five medals for Odisha. She claimed three silver and two bronze in the U-18 girls group. Odisha woman international Pratyasa Ray bagged two silver and one bronze, while Sonia Patel grabbed one bronze.

The three-day championship was organized by the Swimming Federation of India with the support of Odisha State Swimming Association and the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha. Cash awards of Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 were given to gold, silver and bronze medals winners respectively.
