Odisha women Suchitra Parida and Jayanti Behera bagged a total of five medals in the 6th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru from 24 to 27 March 2024.

The five medals featured one gold, three silver and one bronze. International thrower Suchitra won the lone gold medal in womens T-55 javelin and the bronze medal in shot put with efforts of 16.16 metres and 5.30 metres respectively.

Ace sprinter Jayanti captured one silver medal each in womens T-47 100m, 200m and 400m run. Jayanti clocked 13.72 seconds in 100m, 28.31 seconds in 200m and 1:02.60 in 400m events.
