Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KIIT) and Cuttack A registered wins in two preliminary league matches of the OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Bidanasi Ground and MGM Sports Ground respectively in Cuttack today. Four other matches of the day were abandoned due to heavy rain.

Swayam Panda led KIIT to an eight-wicket win against Nuapada, bagging three wickets for three runs and scoring an unbeaten 17. He was adjudged as the player of the match. Cuttack-A beat Rayagada by six wickets in their truncated match, which was reduced to 29 overs. Chandan Sahoo scored a match-winning 42 for Cuttack-A.

RESULTS:

4 July 2024 (Match 63, Bidanasi Ground): Nuapada 35/10 in 12.3 overs (Swayam P Panda 3/3, Sarthak S Kumar 3/10, Rajanikanta Kolaka 2/20) lost to KIIT 36/2 in 10 2 overs (Swayam P Panda 17*; Kanishk D Sharma 2/14) by 8 wickets. PoM: Swayam P Panda.

4 July 2024 (Match 92, MGM Sports Ground): Rayagada 90/8 in 29 overs (Thota L Kumar 25; Janamnay Jena 2/18) lost to Cuttack-A 91/4 in 8.4 overs (Chandan K Sahoo 42; Debanshu Swain 2/14) by 6 wickets (DLS Method). PoM: Janamnay Jena.
