Leading by example, Bhubaneswar-B captain Sayed Tufayl Ahmad bagged five wickets for 30 runs to steer his team to a 110-run win over Sundargarh in their preliminary league match of the OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Ravenshaw Ground-1 in Cuttack today.
Cuttack-A, Sambalpur-B, Kendrapara and Bhadrak registered wins in four other matches of the day. Cuttack-A rode on six-wicket haul by Janamjay Jena to thrash Mayurbhanj by seven wickets, while Ankit Das captured five wickets for five runs to propel Bhadrak to a nine-wicket win against Deogarh.
Among other outstanding performers, Mohanraj Rout, Aman Dash (both Kendrapara), Priyanshu Sahoo (Boudh), Kumar Aryan (Bhubaneswar-B) and Akash Mohapatra (Bhadrak) hit a half-century each, while Yogesh Rai (Boudh) and Anurag Priyadarshi (Sundargarh) scalped four wickets each.
