The other bronze medal for Odisha was claimed by Tulasi Sabar in youth 45kg group. A total of 135 women lifters from 10 States joined the National ranking tournament, which would conclude on July 14. Cash prizes were given to the top six finishers in each weight category.
R Vineel Krishna, the outgoing Secretary of Odisha Sports & Youth Services Department, inaugurated the four-day competition earlier on July 10. Odisha hockey Olympian Lazarus Barla and chess star Padmini Rout joined the prize presentation ceremony as guests today. Odisha weightlifting Olympian K Ravi Kumar, who is also the secretary of Odisha Weightlifting Association, was present on the occasion.
