  BJP leader Samir Dey becomes new president of FAO

Former minister and senior BJP leader Samir Dey became the new president of Football Association of Odisha (FAO) as he was elected unopposed after scrutiny of nomination today. In fact, all 15 office-bearers of were elected uncontested for a four-year term (2024-2028).

However, the official announcement of election results will be made at the Annual General Meeting of the State football body, scheduled to be held on 21 July 2024. Former president of Odisha Olympic Associon, Samir Dey replaced BJD Rajya Sabha Member Debashish Samantaray, who resigned from the pose earlier this month, due to personal reasons. But secretary Asirbad Behera retained his post.
