A blistering unbeaten century by Aryashree Debasish Bhatta went in vain as Odisha Cheetahs went down to Odisha Panthers by five runs in their truncated third-position match of the Odisha Cricket League (OCL T20) at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today.
Opting to bat, the Cheetahs piled up a healthy total of 199 for two with Bhatta firing his way to a 53-ball unbeaten 100, which featured eight sixes and four fours. Giving formidable company to Bhatta, Shreyans Bharadwaj hit a 48-ball unbeaten 68.
Rain played spoilsport as the number of overs for Odisha Panthers was reduced to 10 and a revised target of 87 was set for them to win the match. Stumper-batter Rajesh Dhuper played a stellar role in the Panthers win, slamming an unbeaten 37 off 14 balls. However, Bhatta was named as the player of the match.
