Soumya Parida slammed a 115-ball 98 to help Jajpur script a hard-fought 17-run win over Ganjam in their preliminary league match of the OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Nimpur Ground in Cuttack today. Adarsh Patnaik displayed impressive all-round performance for Ganjam, scalping four wickets and scoring 58 runs.
Malkangiri defeated Gajapati by four wickets and Balangir thrashed Kalahandi by 144 runs in two other matches of the day. Shrishendu Sarkar played pivotal role in the Malkangiri win, scoring 49 runs and picking up two wickets.
All-rounder Anurag Pradhan was the main architect of the Balangir win, hitting a 48-ball 44 and bagging three wickets for 20 runs. In-form bowler Jogeswar Bag also played important role in the Balangir win, picking up four wickets, conceding only one run.
