Rest of Odisha-A were crowned champions in the OCA U-19 Mens Inter-District Cricket Tournament, defeating Khordha by seven wickets in the truncated final via DLS Method at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today. Amitanshu Mallick was the main architect of the victory, bagging five wickets for 18 runs.
The tournament, which commenced with preliminary league matches earlier on April 15 and followed by super league games, turned out to be an exercise in futility as a large number of matches were either abandoned without a ball bowled or decided by DLS method due to rain or wet outfield.
Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) office-bearers, including secretary Sanjay Behera, joint-secretary Prabhat Kumar Bhol and treasurer Bikash Pradhan handed over the trophy in the closing ceremony. State U-19 Team coach Pravanjan Mullick and Junior Selection Committee chairman Natraj Behera were present on the occasion
