  Hrudesh, Himanshu win KTGS All Odisha school chess titles

Hrudesh Panigrahi of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Berhampur and Himanshu Kumar Mallick of DAV Public School emerged junior and senior champions respectively in the the 16th KT Global School All Odisha Open School Chess Tournament, which was conducted at Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on 18 August 2024.

The tournament was organized by KT Global School in collaboration with Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). A total of 120 players from 18 schools across the State participated in the one-day tournament.
 

RSP Chief General Manager PK Swain graced the closing ceremony as chief guest. All Odisha Chess Association president GC Mohapatra, RSP Deputy Manager (Sports) R N Pani, IIGS Sports Director Jyoti Shankar Nanda and ?chief arbiter P K Sahoo were present on the occasion.

TOP 3 PRIZE WINNERS:

Junior Category: 1. Hrudesh Panigrahi (Kendriya Vidyalaya, Berhampur), 2 Abhinav Jena (St Paul School, Rourkela), 3. Kamakhya Bahubalendra (St Paul School, Rourkela).

Senior Category: 1. Himanshu Kumar Mallick (DAV Public School), 2. Chandan Dharai (Ghanashyam Hemalata Vidya Mandir, Jharsuguda), 3. Dristi Pradhan (DPS Rourkela).
