Odisha duo Aniket Sahoo and Suyas Patnaik emerged champion and runner-up respectively in the AITA-CDTA Championship Series U-16 Tennis Tournament, which concluded at the Barabati Stadium Tennis Complex in Cuttack today. In the all-Bhubaneswar final, Aniket defeated Suyas 6-3, 7-5.

A total of 19 players from Assam, Telangana and host Odisha participated in the tournament which was organised by Cuttack District Tennis Association (CDTA), under the auspices of Odisha Tennis Association (OTA). The champion and runner-up earned 25 and 20 AITA ranking points respectively.

OTA secretary Dr Satyajit Mohanty inaugurated the tournament, while tournament director Rajanikanta Nayak presented the trophies at the closing ceremony. CDTA joint-secretary Sushil Santuka, treasurer Satyajit Mohanty (Rubuna) and tournament referee Jatin Batsya were present on the occasion.
