Odisha boy Aditya Bikram Acharya and partner Tejas Ravi of Karnataka finished doubles runners-up in the Asian U-16 Ranking Tennis Tournament, which was held at Dasarath Dev State Sports Complex in Agartala, Tripura from 19 to 26 October 2024.

In the final, Aditya and Tejas lost to Maharashtra-Tamil Nadu combination of Ayush Poojari and Meer Fazal Ali 4-6, 6-4, 7-10. Aditya also reached semifinals in boys singles before going down to Ayush Poojari 1-6, 1-6.

Trainee of Bhubaneswar-based KIIT-Alexander Waske-Altevol Tennis Academy, Aditya earned 150 Asian ranking points in singles and 120 in doubles for his efforts in the week-long Asian junior tournament, which was organised by Tripura Tennis Association, under the aegis of All India Tennis Association and Asian Tennis Federation.

Earlier this year, Aditya and Tejas won the boys doubles title at the Asian U-16 Ranking Tournament in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Student of St Xaviers High School, Kedargouri, Aditya has been doing well in the All-India junior circuit, winning around 10 titles in different age groups so far.
