Odisha star Swasti Singh capped her Khelo India Women Cycling League campaign in style, bagging one gold and two silver medals in the Track National event, which was held at the Indoor Cycling Velodrome, Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi on 27 and 28 October 2024.
Competing in the women elite category, 23-year-old Swasti won the gold in 3000m individual pursuit, clocking three minutes and 55 seconds. She secured the two silver medals in the 10 km scratch race and keirin race. Selected cyclists from Khelo India Zonal events vied for medals and cash prizes in the National final in New Delhi.
With these three medals, Rourkela cyclist Swasti, who trains at SAI Centre of Excellence in Patiala, further boosted her reputation as the most successful competitor of the Khelo India Women Cycling League 2024 with a total of 18 medals, which include six gold and 12 silver.
Employee of Odisha Mining Corporation and student of KIIT University, Swasti now aims to win as many medals as possible in the two upcoming National championships this year. She also hopes to set a National record at the Track National in Chennai next month and the Road National in Puri in December.
