Odisha grabbed two more medals in the IWLF National Youth, Junior & Senior Weightlifting Championship with Suresh Kumar Yadav winning one silver and one bronze in senior men 96 kg weight class last night at Rainbow International School in Nagrata Bagwan, Himachal Pradesh.

Yadav claimed the silver and bronze in inter-state and overall categories respectively with a total lift of 314 kg which included 136 kg in snatch and 178 kg in clean & jerk. A native of Uttar Pradesh, Yadav has been representing Odisha in National championships since 2020. He now trains at the Army Sports Institute in Pune.

With the addition of these two medals, the total number of medals for Odisha in the ongoing National championship swelled to 18. The 18 medals featured seven gold, eight silver and three bronze.
