Odisha cycling icon Swasti Singh continued her dazzling show at the 38th National Games as she led the state to a silver medal in 4000m team pursuit (track event) at the Shivalik Velodrome in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand today. Rejiya Devi Khoirom, Barsarani Barik and Urmila Behera were other three cyclists of the Odisha team that finished second behind Haryana, clocking 5:30.423.
This was the third medal for Swasti in the ongoing National Games, following a gold with New Games Record (NGR) in women elite 3000m individual pursuit (track event) yesterday and a bronze in 60km mass start (road event) earlier on January 31.
Odisha also secured two silver medals in rowing today to increase its overall tally to 20, which featured five gold, six silver and nine bronze. With these 20 medals, Odisha stood 14th in the medal tally. Karnataka is leading the overall medal tally with 54 medals, including 28 gold and 11 silver.
