Odisha defeated Hyderabad by 56 runs in their seventh and last Group-B league match of the Senior Women One-Day Trophy Cricket Tournament at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today. But the win proved inconsequential as they failed to qualify for the knock-out stage.

Odisha finished fourth in Group B with four wins, three defeats and a total of 16 points. Mumbai (24) and Uttarakhand (20) qualified for the knock-out stage at the top two teams, while Hyderabad (20) finished third.

Odisha captain Sushree Dibyadarshini and all-rounder D Janaki Reddy made notable contributions in their win over Hyderabad. Sushree hit an 86-ball 57 and captured two wickets for 29 runs, while Janaki scored 42 off 56 balls and bagged three wickets for 18 runs. The latter was adjudged as the player of the match.

Sushree and her senior team-mate Madhuri Meheta secured berths among the top 10 most run accumulators at the league stage of the tournament. The former finished ninth with a total of 309 runs, including one hundred and two fifties in seven matches.

Madhuri ended 10th with a total of 292 runs, which featured two fifties. Sushree also shone with the ball, claiming the fifth spot among most wicket takers. She scalped a total of 16 wickets, conceding 163 runs with an average of 10.18.
