Odisha boy Suryansh Thatoi won the U-12 boys singles title in the AITA-OTA Talent Series U-12 & U-14 Tennis Tournament, which was held at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex in Bhubaneswar from 24 to 28 March 2025. He defeated statemate Divyesh Barik in the final 6-1, 6-2.
Suryansh missed a double crown as he conceded his U-14 singles final against West Bengal opponent Sairansh Jha after losing the first set 1-6. Sairansh went on to clinch a double crown as he also emerged U-14 boys doubles champion with West Bengal statemate Vivaan Gupta as his partner.
Sairansh and Vivaan won the doubles final against Sheikh Sarim Nawaz (Odisha) and his partner Samay Aagman (Jharkhand) 6-2, 6-2. Title winners and runners-up earned 25 and 20 AITA ranking points respectively.
A total of 54 players from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha participated in the five-day tournament, which was organised by Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) with the support of the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government Odisha.
OTA president Asit Tripathy and joint-secretary Sanjeeb Panda presented the trophies to the champions and runners-up at the closing ceremony. OTA administrative officer Sambit Pattnaik and tournament referee Itee Pradhan were present on the occasion.
