Odisha track & field athletes and archers bagged nine medals on the ninth and penultimate day of the 1st Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG) in Chhattisgarh today. The nine medals featured one gold, four silver and four bronze. The addition of the nine medals swelled the Odisha tally to 54 medals, which include 20 gold, 13 silver and 21 bronze.
Odisha track & field athletes won one gold, two silver and two bronze today to cap their campaign with a total of 24 medals, the highest for the state at Krida Parisar in Jagdalpur. The 24 medals featured eight gold, seven silver and nine bronze. Odisha men emerged overall champions, while the women finished second runners-up.
The lone gold of the day for Odisha was captured by the state mens 4x400m relay team. Among other athletics medal winners, Sandhya Murmu and the womens 4x400m relay team secured one silver each, while the two bronze medals were pocketed by Sunita Santa and Somnath Singh.

Odisha archers opened their medal account with two silver and two bronze in Raipur today. Arjun Khara and Mamita Oram claimed one silver in recurve mixed team event, while Keshaba Banara fetched the other silver in mens individual compound round. Odisha got the the two bronze medals through Sagar Raita in mens individual compound round and mens compound team, consisting of Sagar Raita, Keshaba Banara and Dibyaranjan Munda.

Silver (Athletics): Sandhya Murmu, womens 10000m run, 41:17.79 seconds. Silver (Athletics): Basanti Majhi, Rameswari Gond, Purnima Sandil, Amisha Oram, womens 4x400m run, 4:05.69 seconds.
Bronze (Athletics): Sunita Santa, womens 1500m run, 4:53.72 seconds. Bronze (Athletics): Somnath Singh, mens javelin throw, 58.05 metres. Bronze (Archery): Sagar Raita, Keshaba Banara, Dibyaranjan Munda, mens compound team.
