Odisha para-archery phenomenon Payal Nag created history by clinching a golden double in the World Archery Para Series 2026 at the Bangkok Archery Centre in Bangkok, Thailand today. The 18-year-old quadruple amputee from Balangir district won her second gold medal in womens compound open individual event with a stunning 139–136 win against reigning world champion and more decorated compatriot Sheetal Devi.
This was second win for Payal against 19-year-old Sheetal with the first win happening at the National Para Archery Championship 2025 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Before the individual event in Bangkok, Sheetal and Payal won the gold medal in womens compound team event, defeating Kazakhstan in the final 150–147 yesterday.
