Odisha sprinters Srabani Nanda and Animesh Kujur helped India win two medals in the 2nd Asian Relays Championships, which was held at Shangyu Stadium in Shaoxing, China on 20 and 21 June 2026. Srabani was part of the Indian women 4×100m relay team that captured the gold medal with a timing of 43.85 seconds on the last day.
Tamanna, Sudeshna Shivankar and Sneha Sathyanarayana Shanuvalli were the other three members of the Indian women 4×100m team. China claimed the silver medal, clocking 44.09 seconds, while Thailand claimed the bronze with a timing of 44.11 seconds.
Chhattisgarh-born Animesh won the bronze medal as a member of the Indian 4×100m mixed relay team that finished third with a timing of 41.47 seconds. Other three runners of the Indian team were Tamanna, Sneha Sathyanarayana Shanuvalli and Pranav Pramod Gaurav. Thailand bagged the gold with a time of 41.14s, while China took the bronze, clocking 41.29s.
India secured a total of three medals in the two-day Asian championships. The Indian 4x400m mixed relay team tasted success with a silver medal on the opening day. The third edition of the Asian Relays Championships will be held in Chandigarh next year.
