Rovers Club rode on a brace by Suresh Khadia to humble Kishore Club 4-1 in their Diamond-Group match of the MGM-FAO First Division Football League at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today. Chand Club held Odisha Police to a 2-2 in a Gold-Group match earlier in the day.
The MGM-FAO League, featuring a total of 21 teams, is being jointly organized by the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, and the Football Association of Odisha (FAO). All matches will be played at Barabati Stadium, and the league will continue till August 12.
Cuttack Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Kirandeep Kaur Sahota, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. FAO vice-presidents Bijay Das, Sahadev Rout, Birendra Behera; joint-secretaries Biswa Ranjan Gharei and Avijit Paul were present on the occasion.
